Meet the contributors of The HEM - Volume One
Ameerah Mahajan
Ameerah is a teenage artist who enjoys reading and writing when she isn’t too busy procrastinating her homework. She is also a member of Pathways World School Aravali’s Class of 2021. Some of her other interests include searching for the perfect cup of coffee and trying to maintain an aesthetic Instagram feed all whilst trying to get her submissions done in time. She deplores physical exertion of any kind (unless it involves laser tag)!
Prithvi Singh
Prithvi is a Grade 12 student at the Vasant Valley School, studying Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, Accounts, and English. He is passionate about the economics of healthcare, and asking the easy questions with tough answers – why is there disparity in healthcare across income levels, across nations, across gender and racial metrics? What can we do to make healthcare more accessible in resource-poor nations?
Rhea Kapoor
Rhea is a busy student of grade 10 at Pathways World School, Aravali who calms herself through her creative outlets. She enjoys creative writing, dance and music. Her thriving enthusiasm in music and dance performances provide a balance to the work she’s putting in dealing with the IBMYP curriculum. Her other interests include Political and Cultural History, reading and advocating for the true Feminist movement.
Raman Singh
A student of St. Columba’s School, Raman is an enthusiastic public speaker and debater. He is also fond of quizzing and has represented his school in competitions, both at the state and national level. In the near future, Raman hopes to study economics and entrepreneurship, specifically exploring international markets and development. His background in sports (he has been a part of the school basketball team for the past four years) and his interest in fashion has led Raman to collaborate with Woodland Shoes to design their first affordable street-wear sneaker.
Disha Jaiswal
Disha is a grade 10 student from Pathways World School, Aravali. She loves to write poems in her spare time and is also working on a novel. She plays basketball and is the current captain for the school’s Under 16 Girls’ Team. She is a loud and energetic person who enjoys being around her loved ones and creating memories that latch on to her heart.
Hamir Thapar
Hamir is an aspiring automotive journalist and member of the British School’s class of 2020. When unoccupied with submissions or schoolwork, he is working on his YouTube channel, which has amassed over 3 million views, courtesy of a series of wildlife films documenting his summers spent in Africa. He has authored two book titled ‘My African Safari 21 Days In Kenya’ and ‘Land of The Leopard: My South African Diaries’. His passions include writing, cars and spending time with his family.
Suyash Bhatia
Suyash is a Grade 12 student at the Vasant Valley School, studying Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, and English. As a budding sculptor, he is passionate about Mechanical Engineering, and is always seeking ways to make things more efficient – be automobile designs or Reproductown’s sex ed curriculum! estas. Ananya Shroff
Ananya is a Grade 12 student of Modern School Vasant Vihar (MSVV) in New Delhi. She is a passionate animal lover and activist, and has volunteered extensively with both Friendicoes and People for Animals, and has recently completed research internships at Apollo and AIIMS in New Delhi. Ananya is very interested in Biology and hopes to better understand the intersection of the Environment, Health, Biology, and Policy in University. Ananya just published a short children's book, 'Tanya's Ruff Day', which was inaugurated at the MSVV Primary School and discusses the stigma around stray animals.
