Cry of the womb

By Disha Jaiswal

Maybe this is the time the country realizes

It’s not the clothes that tempt the men

Its not our beauty or figure

Its not what we say

Its not what we do

It’s not how we walk alone on the streets unprotected

Its not because of our religion

Because then no women in this country should be raped

And not a child should be touched.

It’s because of one this only,

The rapist mindset.

We have to stop playing taboo

And stop leaving this alone

because if a rapist can be set free

I demand to be set on fire

And invite you to come watch

Because as a woman

I will rise up

And call on a war.
